I love poetry that reminds me to savor the moment.
That forces me to stop running around worrying,
and to enjoy what is happening right here, right now.
William Stafford is one of my favorite poets.
I don't have to work hard to try to understand what he is saying.
His poems move me to be a better person.
Here is one example of his poetry - I hope you like it.
It could happen any time, tornado,
earthquake, Armageddon. It could happen.
Or sunshine, love, salvation.
It could, you know. That's why we wake
and look out––no guarantees
in this life.
But some bonuses, like morning,
like right now, like noon,
(William Stafford, 1914 – 1993)
